As we get older, those passing away will start to sting. Many of these folks are contemporaries that we have come to enjoy on TV and the big screen. And it is getting very close to the rest of us.
Diane Keaton was one of those rare actresses that I really enjoyed. There was never a bad performance in a variety of genres. From the Woody Allen years to the Godfather movies to Reds to the Book Club franchise, Diane could do it all.
Indeed, one of my favorite roles for her was oddly as Steve Martin's wife in the reboot of "Father of the Bride." She was the anchor in that movie for all the comedy offered up by Steve. Watch it again. She effectively grounds the movie so it works perfectly.
My fear now is that there will be others following her that I enjoyed as well. It is life passing through. Let's appreciate them all when we can.
Dinner last night: German salami sandwich.
