Attentive readers may know that I did not do a Moron of the Month for January 2021. There was way too much going on and so, so, so many idiots to choose from. The equivalent of ice cream brain freeze for me.
But, luckily, I can carry over some of the clowns into February. Especially in light of the news that many deserving folks are having a tough time getting vaccinated against the COVID virus. They've apparently run out in New York. And Los Angeles, where the frenzy to get the shot is something akin to when everybody was running around trying to buy one of those Cabbage Patch Kids.
But, again, it's 2021 and with new people governing the country. We can count on old adages.
Out with the old. In with the new. Well, not really. Horrible individuals who continue to amaze us with their double standards.
Yep, it's politicians. To quote the wisest thing my dad used to say...
"They all stink."
And pretty much that's true. And nothing affirms my father's words more than the recent march by our "elected" leaders to get the vaccines. They are some of the first in the country to do so.
Hey, wait a gosh darn minute. I thought the first recipients were supposed to be culled from nursing homes, first responders, medical providers, and other essential workers.
Well, here we see three complete frauds sticking their arm out for the needle. All rationalizing that they were doing so to demonstrate to the American public that there is nothing to be afraid.
But, hey, wait another gosh darn minute. Wasn't it just a few months ago that they were telling us all not to rush to the vaccine until it was completely tested? The spanking new Vice President even went as far to warn us not to trust any medication coming from the Trump Administration. As if Donald himself was in the White House basement cooking up the vaccine like he was Granny Clampett making her "rheumatiz" medicine.
So why the 180 degree flip? Well, since there is a change of government afoot, it's all right now.
What a couple bunch of phonies. And you elected them, so it's on your watch, gang.
AOC who even had the audacity to put her vaccination process on Instagram. Yeah, I'd listen to her....just five years away from working in her true calling as a taco bar waitress in the Bronx.
Nancy Pelosi. Okay her age warrants the vaccination. I can't deny that. But how much longer do we want that old hag around anyway?
And there's Harris who was very adamant in her distrust of the vaccine.
Oh, don't get me wrong. These three weren't the only three politicos to run to their local pharmacy and cut the line. There were plenty of them. On both sides of the decrepit aisle.
In Len's world, I view them as captains of a sinking ship. When it comes to the COVID-19 vaccine, all politicians go last.
So am I calling this bunch "morons?" Not really. The true idiots are the ones who allowed the caliber of elected officials to fall into such sewer-like proportions over the last twenty or so years. The morons are many of my own friends who don't do any independent research on elections. They simply vote for the person who has a D or a R after their name. That's the only criterion as some of you sit on your fat asses in front of the computer and swallow verbatim whatever Rachel Madcow or Sean Hannity tell you.
And this leads me to the announcement that this might be the last political rant I run on this virtual channel. Have I been silenced with a rifle to the face? Nah. Indeed, I have sort of gone into a news blackout. Come back on Thursday and you will hear all about it.
