Your Winning On-line Oscar Office Pool Pix - Part 2

I really want you to win your Oscar pool, especially since the only meetings you have with fellow works is on Zoom.  I gave you my guesses for the uninteresting shit yesterday.   As is the Hollywood rule these days, diversity will triumph over all.  And the above photo of Miyoshi Umeki and her Best Supporting Actress Oscar for "Sayonara" is your first clue for the rest of the ballot.  If you're having an Oscar party at home, you might want to order Asian food...particularly Chinese.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR:  It would be super cool for Judd Hirsch to win for his eight minutes on screen in "The Fabelmans."  But Hollywood voters love a good comeback story, especially if it ties into some sort of diversity.  I mean, we all remain that Short Round kid from the second Indiana Jones movie.   The winner is KE HUY QUAN FOR EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE.

BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS:  Like I said, everybody loves a good comeback story that ties to the diversity theme of the evening.  And there's the name of Jamie Lee Curtis in a movie full of Asians.  But, wait a darn gone minute.  Academy voters will note that their Black box hasn't been clicked yet.   They can't depend this year on Will Smith sucker punching somebody.  The winner has to be ANGELA BASSETT FOR BLACK PANTHER: WAKANDA FOREVER.

BEST ACTOR:  Hmmm.  The five nominees are all White.  Who let that happen?  So, with no diversity card to play, the good comeback story will have to suffice all by itself.  As much as I liked Paul Mescal in "Aftersun," the winner will be...after dealing with a dead career and some illnesses for two decades or so...BRENDAN FRASER FOR THE WHALE.

BEST ACTRESS:  It doesn't get any easier than this.  A winner that checks a bunch of boxes.  Plus she's had a strong career and lots of people like her.  The winner is MICHELLE YEOH FOR EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE.

BEST DIRECTOR:  Truth be told, my favorite movie of the year was "The Fabelmans" and it would be cool for Steven Spielberg to get recognized for filming his childhood.  But it will have to wait for a year where the Yiddish are in.  In this case, the winners will be THE DANIELS FOR EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE.

BEST PICTURE:  Connect the dots.  Despite the fact that I thought it made zero sense, the winner is EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE.

Fried dumplings are on the winner.

Dinner last night:  Lasagna from my freezer.
